Polygonum minus Aqueous Extract Supplement Reduces Stress-Induced Anorexia and Anhedonia in Mice

Aim: To evaluate the effects of P. minus extract on Chronic ultra-mild stress induced anorexia and anhedonia was main objective this study. Background: Anorexia (less food intake) (loss interest) are very common among depressed patients which create many problems about their essential nutrition values, they can lose body weight immunity further lead towards death due to severe anorexia. has strong relationship with because less intake behavior is developed loss interest in food. Polygonum plant belongs family Polygonaceae, commonly known as ‘Kesum’ Malaysia. Some experimental clinical studies showed that an aqueous its leaf part improve memory enhances positive mood well research animals. It contains flavonoids part. Methodology: In study chronic for 6 weeks had been used induce depression mice (n=14), there were groups including three different doses extract. After CUMS weight, Food consumption preference tests performed. Results: Results stressed group lost significantly improves sweet maximum comparison group.
